My job is in a big telecomunication company in Italy.

We started to use on many server platform ZFS but after a crash or a panic of the sytems the ZPOOL has been corrupted.

All the data in the ZPOOL has been lost and in one case the Solaris does not boot because the Zpool import will lock the server also in single user mode.

We have this ZPOOL configiration on M9000 SUN servers with Solaris 10 and ZPOOL version 10 or 22.

Hi,

first off… if you're relying your business on ZFS, you maybe should have purchased an appropriate support contract. People in this forum might be able - and are absolutely willing - to help, but your description lacks a lot of details, so it can take time.

Anyway… if ZFS crashes the host upon importing a zpool, there are a number of things you can do.

a) setup the system to generate a crash dump and examine that
b) try to import the zpool in read-only mode
c) try to import the zpool in read-only mode in Solaris 11 Express

Last, but not least - address this issue in the ZFS sub-forum, since most of the people being able to help you out, read that one, but not necessarily this generic one.

cheers
